Plot summary : In a distant galaxy where magic and technology co-exists, Audric, a scientist accidentally creates The Monster Minds, a race of mutated plant creatures that goes on a rampage and sets out to take over the universe. In a bid to correct the creation of The Monster Minds, Audric creates a plant called "The Magic Root" which will destroy The Monster Minds, but The Magic Root got split into two pieces and half of the magic root is given to Audric's son Jayce. Joined by a team of fighters known as "The Lightning League" led by a 1000 year old wizard named Gillian, Jayce embarks on a desperate quest to find his father and put the two pieces of "The Magic Roots" together, which will destroy The Monster Minds and their evil leader, Sawboss, who will try and stop Jayce and Audric from destroying them and stop them from dominating the galaxy.

Plot summary : Walter has problems. He's an American who's recently moved to a small Mexican village where he wants to live and write, but he barely knows the language and has no money. He spends his nights in a broke down abandoned shed by the lake trying to write and he spends his days in a local tavern drinking local beer he can't afford and receiving some food on the account of the barkeeper's pity. He's truly a lost man waiting for something to happen and save him. That's when a shady man who writes epitaphs for the recently departed introduces himself. He wants Walter to do a job for him. A powerful local man committed a grave crime against his boss, a powerful shady local businessman, and he needs to die. Walter is offered 100 000 US dollars to be the triggerman. After some consideration, Walter accepts the offer, since they'll kill him if he doesn't, now that he knows their illegal plan. Besides, this money could allow him to finally ask the local girl he's been secretly in love with, but never had the gall to introduce himself to, to elope with him. The assassination attempt ends in an unexpected way, and Walter gets shot in the back by his employers who never intended to let him live with his knowledge of the assassination. However, Walter survives. Now a cripple, he plans to take vengeance. He has finally found his true purpose in life. However, fate has one more cynical and ironic twist in store for him.

Plot summary : An outsider visits a remote isolated village that has seemingly shunned the modern life. Doctor Del Shaw, an investigator from the British ecological watchdog group nicknamed Doomwatch, is sent to the island of Balfe, to file a report on the effects of a recent oil tanker spill. He becomes fascinated with the mysterious behavioural disorders of the locals who display rudeness and random aggression and a strange genetic prevalence of thick lips and sloping brows. Investigation shows that the villagers have been suffering over a prolonged period from hormonal disorders, which are being caused by leaking drums of growth stimulants that have been dumped offshore. The islanders have been eating contaminated fish and develop a disorder of excessive hormonal growth, which produces aggression and eventually madness, attributed to a form of acromegaly. Rather than seek help from the mainland they hide those who are deformed from any newcomers.
