Plot summary : ** 1 - Sukjong, a king of Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910), exalts a selfish and greedy concubine to the status of Bin, which is next to that of the queen. The new Bin, who is now called Janghuibin, drives out the queen through a coup and takes her place. But thanks to loyal court officials, the king finds out what has been going on. He demotes Jang to Bin again and reinstates his queen. Jang, now vindictive, conspires with her mother to kill the queen and reclaim her place. But the conspiracy is brought to light, and Jang is executed.
** 2 - King Sukjong assigns Jang So-hee, a court lady, as an empress overnight. Jang forms a conspiracy to force the queen out of the palace. But with many barriers set up by the queen's faithful servants, she fails to get what she wants. Jang becomes furious by the incident. She conspires with her mother, and kills the queen, and tries to possess Sukjong. But the plan fails again, and she is executed in public.
